Early History of the IWCSPP
In the 1960’s and 1970’s, a group of stored-product entomologists felt the stored-product entomology was outside the mainstream of general entomological meetings. In 1972, a group led by Dr. Bob Davis, from the Stored-Product Insects Research and Development Laboratory in Savannah GA USA, met with other stored-product entomologists at the International Congress of Entomology in Canberra, Australia, and found good support for starting a separate stored-product entomology conference.

The 12th International Working Conference on Stored Product Protection (IWCSPP) was held in Berlin, Germany, from 7 to 11 October 2018.

It brings together approximately 500–600 scientists, consultants, extension workers and industry, from across the globe to discuss the latest innovations in safe storage of the world’s durable food commodities such as grains, pulses (legumes), spices, dried fruits, herbs and animal feed, and non-food products such as museum artifacts, tobacco and wood.
